Acco Our Company and Brand History header

Our Story

When it comes to an honest connection to ranchers and farmers, some feed companies are all hat and no cattle. ACCO Feeds® is the real deal. Our story of time-tested value can be traced right to the heart of Texas horse and cattle country.

Anderson, Clayton & Co (ACCO) began as a Texas cottonseed crushing operation back in the 1904. Over the next 20 years or so, the company became one of the Lone Star state's leading livestock feed millers with plants in Abilene, Amarillo and Dallas.

ACCO Feeds continued to grow in the 1960s and 70s, extending the reach of its premium products to other states and introducing Showmaster -- the first feed specially formulated for show animals.

By the 1980s, ACCO Feeds would boast 10 consecutive years of Grand Champion Steers at the Houston Livestock Show -- the world's largest show of its kind at the time.

With its unmatched reputation for quality, value and performance, ACCO Feeds found itself right at home in 1987 when the company joined Cargill as part of the Nutrena Feed Division.

Today, our story continues as ACCO Feeds is working harder than ever to bring that time-tested value born on the plains of West Texas to a dealer right down the road from you.
